Identity is such a powerful thing. I know this is a comic, intended to be funny and absurd - but the truth of life is not all that different.  Zach has a pretty great approach to humor, and his series is well worth a read. In fact, SMBC recently co-launched a new politically educational comic... so I think we might have a mindsettertainment enthusiast in there after all...

To be fair, I haven't read it, as they haven't come out with their digital version as of yet. But I have faith in their creator.  Give it a look if you're in the USA!

An enjoyable read as we take quite a bold look into the inner workings of our classic heroes' minds. I really connected with Superman's plight.  That of having to exaggerate both Clark, and Superman... and wondering who "he" was, anymore. I think that as a martial arts instructor I spent many years wanting to appear as wise and powerful as possible, so as to inspire the students to be greater. The truth is, the more effective approach was to simply be myself, flaws and all, and model the perseverance of striving to be better. To being open to BEING better. Well written, and well drawn.  Looking forward to the next one!

Dante travels the land, obsessively learning and growing, and embracing the very essence of moving forward without a surefire plan to victory. If his pragmatic and chaotic approach to strategy or, indeed, his life ethos as a whole could be summarized, I think it would be something along the lines of that he'd rather be moving 100mph in the wrong direction than doing nothing at all - he has faith in his ability to adapt, learn, and pivot should the need arise, and he does what he thinks is best for the whole and for himself. My favorite part about this series is that it teeters on being a villain as the protagonist.  He's a necromancer, he's caused all sorts of problems... but he's doing what he thinks is right. I think writing like that is brilliant. Do make sure to read his second series as well, the cycle of Galand.

The premise of this movie is to ascertain if we are more than simply a collection of our memories - the characters are given injections of other people's memories in order to find the nature of the soul. As of recently, not science fiction anymore, but more appropriately, science exaggerated fact.  They have, quite recently, discovered where memories are stored and have somehow "injected" the memories into another brain. Ah, the times we live in...

I love both of these series for different reasons. 1) I quite enjoy seeing the evolution of a product over the years.  To see how the European or Canadian production teams approach it, and how the American teams approach it is very cool to see. 2) The older the show, the more 20/20 hindsight the audience is given.  We get to KNOW which products actually made it, and which ones that didn't.  Valuable lessons there.  Bonus, if you watch 'em on Youtube, some helpful individual often puts the business' results in the comments. 3) We are who we surround ourselves with.  I find my entrepreneurial mind sparked by shows like this. My son is 4, and hasn't watched any television yet, except one episode of this show.  I think it's a brilliant way to introduce the concept to kids. He gave me the most amazing, hand made "I invest in you Daddy, write books" hand made investors contract yesterday. It is... awesome.  There is even $6 of monopoly money s...

Wow! This is another example of a series that had me hooked from day one. Excellent pacing, natural exposition, good writing and art.  Wonderfully made. As far as the mindsettertainment aspect of it goes, it provides a beautiful look at what Tony is known for:  Futurism.  What is coming. Not just tech, but moral dilemmas that will likely pop up as we give birth to AI, cloning, and more. Wonderful series - not a dud in the mix and I believe we're up to issue 8 at the time of this writing. 

This comic is a little different from my other posts, in that, while I found the concept, and some of the individual pages interesting, I also did find myself skipping over sections as well. Still, a thoroughly entertaining premise and concept. Without providing too many spoilers, the basic premise is creating an optimized clone of yourself with all of your memories... in effect, you 2.0 But you're still there, too. It's a fun premise to think about, and the comic takes some interesting turns.

Man... I love this movie. It could be that I was feeling particularly emotional due to having watched it shortly after the birth of my son, but... There's just something incredibly magic about it.  I think one of the bigger takeaways from this movie is the recovering from setbacks, and remembering that we are here to do something amazing.  We all have potential - but only some of us truly chase that potential, develop our skills into something extraordinary, and... well, get as close to our limitless potential as our time on this planet will allow. Ah, Pay it Forward.  A classic mindsettertainment if ever there was one. While I'm not sure if I would encourage my son to bring a random homeless man into our house, the message behind this movie (and indeed, the resulting shockwaves of people applying its message) is exactly what I mean when I say that entertainment can change lives. I've heard they put this movie into schools, and I think that's great.  There are some concepts that are best seen to be believed. I applaud the creators of this masterpiece.  5 Stars!
